There is no getting over your project being chosen for the cover of a magazine! Thank you so much editors, publishers, photographers and designers of Quilts and More for choosing my quilt, Summer Block Party!!!! In stores now, the Summer 2018 edition is filled with fun projects, I want to make so many! I absolutely LOVE the quality of photography, design, lighting, etc that shows all the details, and of course the instruction and bonus material makes it so easy to use….more on that later! All People Quilt is where it’s at!
I just enjoy so much seeing the story develop around a quilt! Ideas come to life and bubble up in unexpected places! Quilts and More has added a feature of “running with a pattern”, meaning using it again in a different size and fabric collection, giving it a second life. In this case, Joanna Burgarino, Editor of Quilts and More, used a fun bandana fabric to make a single 24″ block that can be used as a wall hanging or table topper, much different than the original bed quilt, and a nice compliment to it as well! I might have to make this one too! Thanks Joanna, for taking the next step with my design!
It’s always so fun to stumble across a project of mine featured again in a new article. Today my Pouf, which was originally made for an article in Make It Yourself Magazine including up-cycled sweaters, is in the daily Better Homes and Gardens mail!
It was a fun project, colorful and functional. The body of the pouf is made from a cardigan, you can see I left it buttoned up! The top and bottom turquoise section was from a dyed leather coat. I loved the color then, and I still do. I’ve saved the remains of that coat, and have used it for other projects as well. Check it out! What do you think?
