I’m teaching at the Quilter’s Affair again this year, and it will be the FIRST time they have offered Barn Quilt Painting! The classes will be on Monday July 3rd and Tuesday July 4th. Bring your friends for a day out with all your favorites: girlfriends and creativity! All the major supplies are provided in the kit. Student supply list: Bring a 6×24″ quilters ruler, paper scissors, apron (or wear painting clothes), lunch, water and snacks.
Sequence of Barn Quilt Painting
So many of you have asked how the Barn Quilt Classes are set up! Like any other quilting class, there is some prep-work, before you can get to the actual painting. After that there are some techniques to learn for taping, painting and removing the tape. Eventually all the spaces are filled, the magic happens, and the Barn Quilt is finished!
My friend Ada, who took the class from me in Eugene a couple days ago was sweet enough to send this sequence of pictures, showing some of the steps. The finish is PRICELESS! It will hand near her beautiful English garden near the McKenzie River, and forever maker her guests smile. I love the colors she chose, especially the salmon-pink which is for her granddaughter. The next Eugene class will be September 8th for the MQG! After that I’ll be teaching at the West Side Quilters Guild in Portland, OR and at the NW Quilting EXPO also in Portland!
It’s a Wrap! Coburg Quilt Show 2018
That’s right, the Coburg Quilt Show 2018 is history, except for the lingering smiles. A great quilt show, a fun two days vending, talking with new and old friends, and a SUPER Barn Quilt Painting class! It was all over in what seemed like a minute, and, can it be Sunday night already!!??!! A HUGE thank you to Sew Steady for sponsoring the show and making it happen! It was a hot one, and a few obstacles to contend with, such as road construction, but all in all, a wonderful event, and hopefully the start of a new tradition for the Coburg Quilt Show! If you want to follow the Coburg Quilt Show on facebook, here’s the link! I have to say, it’s so much fun to have friends come together for classes, and this time I got to have my BFF there too!
