International shipping for Footstool Kits!

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

I have finally been able to find a reasonable price for international shipping, at least for Canada, the UK and Australia–where I’ve had inquiries.  I will be able to add these into the shop buy buttons soon, but in the meantime, if you want to shoot me an email I’d be happy to answer any questions!  There is a SIGNIFICANT price break for shipping two kits, so hopefully you will have a friend who’s interested too!

Make It Yourself!

Believe it or not, this Men’s Neck  Scarf was made with upcycled sweaters!  It’s part of an article featured in the Fall/Winter issue of Make It Yourself magazine which you can find on newstands now, or you can get a digital copy by using the link.  It is a fast project, very functional and stylish.  Make it in team colors for your favorite sports fanatic, or like I did in monochromatic shades.

If you missed my previous post about this article, check it out here!  Then don’t miss out on seeing the fb page for Make It Yourself, and for me!

Free Patterns Available through P&B

So, as I’ve been mentioning, there have been some new patterns in the works.  They are inspired by new fabric collections coming out from P&B Textiles!  Well, they are available now on their web site, and I’m happy to introduce them to you!

Three of a Kind table runner is made from the Silvia’s Sonnet Collection.  It’s a quick little project of three repeated blocks using fused applique.  The picture shown here uses just one block for a pillow.

Fun With Fizz is another modern quilt that features the whole line of the Fizz Collection.  Simple cutting and piecing, you’ll have this one finished in no time!

#Zig #Zag is modern quilt that will help to debut the Moderne Collection!  Following the pattern is the only way to keep things organized to make the colors flow across the quilt.  Remember it’s FREE, so don’t miss out!

Guardian Stars, made using the Harrington Collection is a quilt that I’ll be teaching this coming weekend for the Emerald Valley Quilters Guild in Eugene, Oregon!  It is a fun quilt to put together, and I’ve made it in other fabrics as well.  I think it would be a great Quilt of Valor!

Excited to Share!

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

While working behind the scenes is very rewarding and gives a great sense of accomplishment as I check things off the to-do list, it’s so fun to get to the point of being able to share my latest project with everyone! I’ll be teaching at a BIG EVENT this summer (more on that later) and am finalizing plans by dropping off the “virtual” pattern, photos and sample blocks to my wonderful graphic artist Barbara Gleason!
Next, she will make it beautiful, legible and clear, put the photos just where they should be and return it all by email for a final edit. This quilt uses some fun fabric from Maywood Studios, called “13 Going on Thirty”! Very soon it will become a downloadable pattern! It’s exciting to learn how to make this all happen, I’m so glad to have some experts around to help me figure it all out!
