Raining Footstools!

It is so fun to see my footstool kits getting shipped off all over the country, and internationally as well!  I recently had the great pleasure of working with Vanessa Christensen of V & Co., to put together a footstool for her booth at Fall Market!  We used a jelly roll of her SPECTACULAR Ombre fabric for a footstool and a companion pincushion. She’s located in the Moda–Show Me The Moda– booth!  I hope you’ll swing by to visit with her and see the footstool, and pincushion I made for her!  Check my SHOP page if you want to order one for yourself!

I also just have to brag about one of my very generouscustomers who purchased a footstool kit for her dear friend in England.  Kathy, what a wonderful friend you are, and Elizabeth, you are going to get such a surprise!  Now, it WAS shipped to England, and her name IS Elizabeth–could it be?  Yes??!!  Maybe!!??  I think the Queen would look so cute with her feet up on one of my footstools, but I’ll have to let you all know later if it was her or not!

Memories of Houston!

I experienced a few red-letter days at Houston Fall Market! It was fun, exciting and busy. My Schoolhouse presentation was to a packed house! It’s always great to see old friends and acquaintances, and of course Amy Marson, Ruthmary and Allison from my publisher C&T were on hand to help with holding up quilts and anything I needed! I also did a book signing in the C&T booth where we gave away a whole CASE of my new book, Get Addicted to Free Motion Quilting! Then I turned right around and did the same thing at the Checker booth! Fun, fun, fun! In between things, I did a spontaneous interview with Rob Appell! I don’t know how or when that will show up yet, but I’ll keep you informed.
Then of course there are the quilts! They are shown in an attached (I’ll say arena, since I don’t really know what to call it)! A HUGE place hung with AMAZING quilts, special exhibits and honorary exhibits. Wow, it took a few trips to see the whole show, and even then I felt like I had to hurry! I did get some pictures where it was allowed and will study those over the next months. I was able to talk with some friends including Valori Wells Kennedy, Rashida Coleman, Jessica Beaudet, and briefly to a new acquaintance Alex Anderson!!!!! What an experience, I am proud to be a part of this industry!
