Oh my gosh! Something fun arrived on my doorstep a couple days ago! I’ve been spending my evenings devouring every page. No, it wasn’t something to eat, but a wonderful (if I do say so myself) new machine quilting book, called The quilting MANUAL, from stashBOOKS, an imprint of C&T Publishing.
There are 16 great designers contributing to the book, with a wide variety and style of designs, along with all kinds of tips and ideas for using the tools and gadgets that are available to make your quilting easier, more efficient, comfortable and FABULOUS! Get your fix with new all-over designs, borders, blocks, wreaths, motifs, all suited for hand or any kind of machine quilting.
I’m jumping up and down for how well it’s put together, and proud to be included in the list of designers.
I’m linking up to Crazy Mom Quilts today for this exciting Friday finish!!!
I experienced a few red-letter days at Houston Fall Market! It was fun, exciting and busy. My Schoolhouse presentation was to a packed house! It’s always great to see old friends and acquaintances, and of course Amy Marson, Ruthmary and Allison from my publisher C&T
were on hand to help with holding up quilts and anything I needed! I also did a book signing in the C&T booth where we gave away a whole CASE of my new book, Get Addicted to Free Motion Quilting
! Then I turned right around and did the same thing at the Checker
booth! Fun, fun, fun! In between things, I did a spontaneous interview with Rob Appell
! I don’t know how or when that will show up yet, but I’ll keep you informed.
Then of course there are the quilts! They are shown in an attached (I’ll say arena, since I don’t really know what to call it)! A HUGE place hung with AMAZING quilts, special exhibits and honorary exhibits. Wow, it took a few trips to see the whole show, and even then I felt like I had to hurry! I did get some pictures where it was allowed and will study those over the next months. I was able to talk with some friends including Valori Wells Kennedy
, Rashida Coleman
, Jessica Beaudet, and briefly to a new acquaintance Alex Anderson
!!!!! What an experience, I am proud to be a part of this industry!
Hurray for FedEx! I’d had an email that it was coming, but it’s a thrill to see my 3rd book in person for the first time! All the late nights, planning, stitching and dreaming have come to fruition! GET ADDICTED TO FREE MOTION QUILTING arrived on my doorstep, all glossy and colorful…I am jumping up and down! Next, to sit in a comfortable chair and take a moment to savor the beautiful photography and lay-out. Thanks to the good people at C&T Publishing who trusted me and used their expertise to make it gel all together! I am thrilled to be a part of the C&T family.
GET ADDICTED TO FREE MOTION QUILTING will be released in September, no doubt you can pre-order copies now. More later about some details, classes and ideas. For now, I am simply celebrating!
Meeting Amy Marson, Portland Spring Market, 2013
I had an awesome day at Spring Quilt Market in Portland. As you can see I was able to meet AMY MARSON, publisher at C&T Publishing! It was a real treat, we had a chance to actually visit and get to know each other a bit! Turns out Amy (isn’t she the cutest) went to the same high school as my friend and companion for the day, Lisa Bee Wilson! Small world! Amy had some early promotional literature for my next book (which will be released in September), VERY fun to see that! I’ll tell you more about that as it gets closer, and you’ll likely see me doing some jumping up and down at that point.
Lisa and I also got to talk with LOTS of other favorites from the industry, and sadly missed a few who were there, but our timing was off as we didn’t cross paths. The booths and quilts were motivating and inspirational, the people—-so talented it is humbling! It was a fun day.
